Amy Shell
PBS Practitioner
Amy is a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner at DMI Psychology with a background in psychology, children's services and disability employment services. After graduating with First Class Honours from Macquarie University in 2020, she began her career in early intervention, supporting children on the autism spectrum, before moving into adult services, where she now works with individuals facing complex mental health and behavioural challenges. Amy has held a range of roles across sectors, including Behavioural Therapist, Business Manager and other leadership roles.
She is passionate about mental health, behaviour analysis, and understanding what drives human behaviour. Her mission is to empower individuals—particularly those others may find “too challenging”—by addressing behaviours of concern in a way that promotes personal growth, resilience, and independence. She brings strong skills in problem-solving, behavioural assessment, stakeholder engagement, and trauma-informed care, and has published two peer-reviewed journal articles in psychology.
Amy believes that supporting growth in others contributes to her own personal and professional development, and she is committed to providing person-centred, evidence-based support that aligns with DMI Psychology’s mission to improve quality of life and wellbeing.
